Falling Into the Abyss
The conundrums unfold….
This is the result of something that didn’t produce the result I intended. I intended to do something light and easy going, but then I started firing up additional tracks so I could better understand a Meris Ottobit X I dropped and it consume a lot darker in tone. Rather than fight the tide, I let the boat take its own course.
The result is a footnote through an urban decay wasteland. A moment in the life of some random someone surviving in a futuristic dystopian city. Maybe the person is begins their journey in a run down mass transit vehicle. Perhaps they exit the vehicle and then walk through their neighborhood. It is likely they stop into some mind altering chemical bar to take the edge off. Things get a bit surreal. A person on a stage performs a Sonnet from Shakespeare. Eventually the person finds themself at their home, late in the night, watching some silly video program on a screen; the screen providing the only light in the small otherwise dark apartment. The person will probably repeat more or less this practice for the rest of their days.
The audio a bit muddier than I prefer, but I learned enough from the effort that I’m saving it for future recollections.
The piece is based a Digitakt II track for the foundation. I have several vocal tracks coming out of the SP404, with the exception of the Shakespeare bit which is in one take. And Lastly, a single kick drum track that pops up here and there. All to permit me to was trying out several different approaches on how I can use the Ottobit X in the future.
