Canned Parasite Post #100

What Happened to Us?: A commemorative conceptual album

Under the notion that modern society demands we will adapt to doing things differently, I have compiled an album's worth of audio from tidbits from this site and have meaningfully structured them into a short conceptual album. The album is exclusive to the below link and the link is not accessible without some cost.

Subvert.fm is a new cooperative platform that can be used to share audio. It is intended to provide an alternative to other models that no longer serve the artist community. Is it perfect? Probably not. But who gives a fuck as the mainstream platforms simply fail artists and support only the commoditization of aesthetics for non artist share holders. Many of you will care little for this nuance. That is ok, there are many other fish in the sea with which you may swim.

Not to worry, the somewhat lesser quality audio content is still randomly present throughout the cannedparasite.com body of work that you are interacting with presently. It will continue to do so under the same context in which it was first released. The album is simply a reinterpretation of that work into something new.

The album is a loose conceptual album. Its meaning and subject matter are vague by design. Its intentions remain unclear and unsettling. Its conclusions unfulfilling. The tracks take you through a journey of doubt and uncertainty and questionable decision making.

I consider it an album despite its brevity. Some will suggest it is an EP. Many people view length critical to the definition of what is an album. I don't.

I believe intent matters most. The tracks included on this album are presented with an intention and design that comfortably fall under the album construct.

Call it an EP if makes you more comfortable.
