Teenager Drives Dad's Car
I wanted to escape the world of words for a while and fall away into a collage of interesting sounds that evolved and morphed at a rate of my own choosing. So I got into tones and tone pallets and before you know it I was pitter pattering away to a collection of sounds that I found comfortable. From there on I was mostly trying to wrench as much creativity out of these few simple tracks that were aligned to a 6/8 time signature.
This one gets slightly brash towards the end. (About 7 seconds). I almost yanked that bit out, but then I think it is has a weird flare to it, almost like its abruptly forcing me to jump out of my headspace and away from whatever fantasyland I had holed up in. Plus I liked how the piece ultimately fades out. So, though I am about 50:50 with those 7 seconds myself; it is one is of those instances in which I am prioritizing function over form as it is doing what it is intended to do.
