Acousticacasm
A two track journey
This piece consists of two tracks that were completed/performed in one live take. I did add a little bit of compression and put a peak limiter onto the final mix just to tame it to my preferences.
Track 1 is the signal path for the sequencers and samplers. These also run through some outboard FX, in this instance a smorgasbord of Chase Bliss:
Digitakt II-->Digitone II--> Onward-->Reverse Mode C-->Lost + Found-->Mood II-->Clean-->Generation Loss II
Track 2 is the guitar signal path.
Acoustic guitar-->ToneMaster Pro-->Origin 76-->BS Wombtone-->Habit
The following reside in the pedal loop and it is a smorgasbord of Meris:
LVX-->Mercury X-->OttobitX
MIDI. I am lazy. I hate doing anything on a computer beyond the bare minimum these days. I find the screens and infinite options in the DAW distracting.
But I do use MIDI for tempo. Basically anything that has a midi in will get a cord attached to it and then tossed into the daisy chain of "things that can be demanded to receive the same BPM". The Digitakt II in charge. It's a lot more cables than I prefer. But makes directing traffic much easier by keeping everything somewhere about in the same time zone.
A few technical notes about the piece:
The Habit is set to Always record and to Overdub. The initial guitar bit lasts about 2.5 minutes, and then recycles over every three minutes (the length of the recording buffer in the Habit). It reiterates four times in this piece. Each time different as the stepped speed modifier + overdubbing + engaging different presets in the FX loop+ swapping the affected signal from In to Out makes each pass through different.
