What happened to us?

Two independent tracks drive this creation. The first track was generated using a Digitakt II and a plethora of samples I created as well as some samples that were already onboard the box as it came to me off the shelf.
Digitone II synths are layered onto this track and were simply passed through the Digitakt II.
The second track (panned slightly to the right) was generated using samples recorded onto a SP-404MKII. Many of the SP-404MKII samples I have previously used elsewhere, but differently deployed in this instance. These were deployed freestyle to contrast with the quantized beats coming out of the Digitakt II.
External FX were minimized in this instance relative to my typically heavy handed use of them most of the time. A JHS Colour box introduces a bit of noise to the Digitakt II track to give it a bit of a lo fi grit and contrasts with the cleaner samples generated out of the SP-404MKII. There are some subtle Phaser FX coming in via a Beetronics Larva. Both tracks funneled independently through a Chase Bliss Clean. A bit of reverb on the backend to provide some depth.
The visuals were created using Procreate and then fed into Final Cut Pro where I layer on some additional FX and cobble them together.
