This one came oh so close to being mothballed. But it wasn’t. Almost moved on. Kept relistening and kept tweaking the mix. Hemmed and hawwwed. Was about to move on again, was given one last reprieve. I re-listened and learned to accept it for what it is- once I culled part iii from it.

A movement in two parts. It is a slow build to get to the good stuff. It‘s a bit long and demanding to listen to. But there are breaks and some pacing to get you through the journey. It gets intense at times, maybe a little rollercoaster through the dark, but there is humor to reassure us that we can survive this.

The samples used in each part (it is pretty clear when we move from part one to part two) are likely 95% the same. They may be even 100% the same as i don’t recall one way or another if I modified them in any way. I know if I did it was pretty minimal as I had a pretty “full” set of tracks to manage for the initial recording. What is sequentially part 2 in this piece was actually recorded first. I felt the sequence you hear here felt more natural.
